Second birthday

Today is Pippa's second birthday. (I am going to try to back post from last post in December 2011. We'll see how far I get)

We had some friends visiting, and they needed to leave early this morning, but they didn't leave before singing Happy Birthday to Pippa in German. Her first presents were some Schleich animals (a lion, a gorrilla, a turtle, a zebra, and an elephant). She loves animals and so the figurines were perfect.

LG went back to school today. We all walked her to school because it was a beautiful day. She gets to school so quickly these days because she rides her scooter so well. Pippa fell asleep so when we got back home it gave her parents the chance to wrap her gifts. When LG came home she wrapped her gift, a doll, and finished coloring her Peppa Pig card. Pippa opened the push chair, her mom got her, and also the Mr. Potato her dad got her. She played with all her new toys right up to the moment she had to go to bed.

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY!!

The Mall

LG is feeling a little better today.  Her eyes look a bit better, although they are still red and chapped.  The doctor said she is not contagious, so we decided to change the scenery and stroll LG around the mall.  They have installed a merry-go-round in the food court, and, as you know, LG loves merry-go-rounds!  She wanted to ride it, so that is another good sign that she is feeling better.  She rode the gorilla first and then the white horse!  She wants to come back tomorrow.  :)

Sadly, I am now starting to go downhill.  I feel as if I am getting the flu.  I hope not!

Christmas and a Sick Little Girl

This morning when LG woke up, she could not open her eyes.  They where glued shut from all the tearing up and puss that was coming out of them.  LG was going to have her 2 year old check up later in the week, but I called, and they saw her early.  Apparently, she has an ear infection and a virus in her eyes.  Poor thing.  She has never been so sick.  This is worse than Spain!  (I will spare you the pictures.)  We decided to go ahead and open some Christmas gifts anyway to try to cheer her up a bit.  Granddaddy liked his mug LG made him, and Grangmother liked her purse from Spain.

USA Here We Come!!!!

Today we boarded a plane to head back home for an early Christmas with the grandparents.  Sadly, LG started feeling bad in the car on the way to the airport.  Halfway through the flight she had a fever, and now her eyes are running, and she is just miserable.  I have never been so glad to be home in my life!

Football...or is it Soccer?

Tonight B got the chance to go to a football match with some friends.  (Football is what they call soccer here.)  Oh, and the scarf is not a sudden Dr. Seuss fashion statement that Byron is making, here you wear your team's scarf to show your support.

A Weekend Away

This weekend we went on a church retreat.  I was expecting to be roughing it like back home on these kinds of things.  Instead, as you can see, we stayed in a converted manor house!!!!!

We had a lovely time, even if LG wore her tutu the whole time, and woke up in the middle of the night each night.  B and the other American at our church huddled over their computers to watch the American football one evening, and LG watched her first full length film, Cars 2.  I taught a small language class, and LG held up my flash cards for me.  :)
